Book Bag Days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. More information can be found in the front of the children’s reading diaries.
Homework
Your child will bring their homework home every Monday and should return it the following Monday. This will usually alternate between maths and English/grammar (SPAG). Homework may be used to support other areas of the curriculum too. We politely request that parents mark the work with their child so that any misconceptions can be addressed when returned to school. If they are struggling with any aspects please just write a note on the homework.
Spellings
Spellings will be tested each week on Monday and the new list will be given out following the weekly test. A spelling book will also be sent home with the spellings in.

Wednesday 11 March 2026 Oracy in DT ( Herons ) This half term, our topic is 'Structures.' As our entry point, the children worked in teams to create their own towers using paper and masking tape. Following our talk rules, the children had to come to an agreement on the tower that they were going to make, take-turns, challenge respectfully and bring others into the discussion. The children worked hard to implement these key skills and created some very creative towers! Some were unstable and fell over easily. We will be working on strenghtening techniques over the coming weeks and will utilise these in our final build at the end of the topic. Great work Herons!!
